Preston, IdahoAnna Carma Jensen Cushing Brown, 94, a former Salt Lake City area resident, passed away peacefully July 7, 2008 at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. Carma was born July 24, 1913 in Hyrum, Utah the youngest of four children born to Abraham and Arletta Peterson Jensen. She and two sisters and a brother grew up in Hyrum. A year after her graduation from high school she moved to Salt Lake City where she became a beautician and later a dental assistant. She resided there and in North Salt Lake until 2001. She married Robert G. Cushing on May 18, 1937 in the Salt Lake City Temple. He died in 1946- a casualty of WWII. She married Glen Arvil Brown, a widower on June 5, 1947 who had two young sons, Michael Charles, and Bradley Glen Brown. A year later a daughter was born to them, Peggy Lynn. After a serious illness in 2001, Carma moved to live with her daughter in Banida, Idaho and has resided there ever since. Carma was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various callings through the years. She loved and enjoyed her family, gardening, painting ceramics, bowling, sewing, and crocheting, and has kept herself busy doing embroidery work for the last six years which she donated to the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed giving to others and was a dear friend to many. She is survived by her three children, Michael (Kaye) Brown, of Seattle, WA; Bradley (Sharon) Brown, of Morgan, UT; Peggy (Verl) Christensen, of Banida, ID; 23 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Robert and Glen, two sisters, and one brother. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Winder Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Clendon Christensen conducting. Friends may call Sunday evening at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery where a short graveside service will be held at approximately 3:30 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
