Preston - Carl John Kaschewski, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at his home in Preston, Idaho. He was born on June 19, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to Carl and Elizabeth Kaschewski. He married Ann Smerglia. They were married 63 1/2 years before her death on April 8, 2010.

Carl was best known for his friendly manner and interest in people. He could be seen with his wife driving around the valley viewing the scenery and frequent visits to the different eateries. He loved to eat. Carl's most favorite food was of the spiritual variety. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he found great delight in sharing spiritual truths found in God's Word the Bible. He often spoke of being with his beautiful wife in paradise. Paradise to Carl was not in heaven, but here on earth after they received a resurrection. Jesus said "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." John 5:28, 29 "The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it." Psalm 37:29.

Carl is survived by his three daughters, nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 804 North State Street in Preston, Idaho. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
