Cardon Zane Beckstead

Cardon Zane Beckstead, age 25, passed away in the early morning of January 1, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Cardon was born in Logan, Utah on November 17, 1999, to Brandon & Carol Beckstead of Preston, Idaho. Cardon grew up in Preston where he loved doing everything that little boys do. At the age of 10 he was diagnosed with MELAS, a very rare condition. He fought hard for many years but passed away due to the progression of the disease. Cardon is survived by his parents, brothers Brock Beckstead of Colorado Springs, Colorado & Dylon Beckstead of Preston, Idaho, as well as his grandpa Eldon Golightly of Preston, Idaho and many Aunts, Uncles & cousins. He is proceeded in death by his baby sister Jessica Pearl Beckstead, grandparents Mary Ann Golightly, Willis Leon Beckstead & Julie Beckstead. We are deeply grateful for everyone that has supported Cardon and our family through this journey over the years. Special thanks to the staff at Primary Children’s Hospital, FCMC of Preston and Logan Regional. We would also like to thank the nurses & aides for the care Cardon received at Rocky Mountain Care of Logan this last year.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E. Preston, Idaho. Viewings will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm and again Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Franklin Idaho Cemetery.
