Preston - Brent Earl Gordon 65, died suddenly at home on July 9, 2014. He was born April 26, 1949, to Ross Hamilton and Hazel Alma Johnson Gordon, the fifth of nine children. He was raised in Smithfield and Lewiston on family farms. He was active, together with his father, in breeding registered Holstein-Friesen dairy cattle. Although incapable of drawing a stick person, he could draw cows' markings on registration forms right down to the last spot. He went to school at North Cache and Sky View.

On June 22, 1968 he wed Mary Lou Priestly in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. They had four sons. They were later divorced. He worked on the farm until it was sold, and then went to work for Cache Valley Dairy as a cheese maker. He then finished his working years driving forklift at Icon Health and Fitness. His retirement was spent hunting and fishing with nieces and nephews he loved, and held a special place in his heart. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper. He was excited about his new shoulder and the opportunities ahead.

He is survived by: brothers Drew Gordon, Grant (Kallin) Gordon, sisters: Cathy (Dale) Hardy, Ilene (Jody) Palmer, Paula Gordon, Maurine (Carlos) Elwood, and Carole (Ken) Smith. Children: Spencer (Trissa) Gordon, Shane (Larissa) Gordon, Shawn Gordon, and Steven (Tammy) Gordon, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Johnny and George Gordon, a sister, Lois G. Bodily, and a daughter-in-law Julie Gordon.

Funeral services will be held Monday July 14, at 11:00 at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Monday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Smithfield Cemetery.
