PRESTON, IDAHO- Our loving mother, Betty Lou Seamons Golightly, 72, passed away on March 8, 2008, in Preston, Idaho. She is now reunited with her sweetheart, whom she has missed since December of 2003. Betty Lou was born April 26, 1935, in Fairview, Idaho, to Allen R. and Edna Egbert Seamons, the second of seven children. She was a cute, red-haired, blue-eyed baby girl. She attended Preston High School where she met and courted the love of her life. Duane C. Golightly. After graduation, they married on May 5, 1954, in the Logan Utah Temple. She was the mother of ten children and her family was very important to her.She loved being close to and caring for all of her family. She had many friends and made new friends as they traveled. She also cherished and appreciated all the kindness and consideration that all have shown her.She loved to go fishing, hunting, camping, crocheting afghans, reading, writing poems, putting puzzles together, word searches, and collecting many things. She and Duane loved supporting their children and grandchildren in sports and other activities everywhere that they could. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings including Primary, Nursery, Young Women's and Sunday School Secretary, family history worker (French extraction) and as a visiting teacher. She had a strong testimony and lived the gospel by example. She will be missed but we all know that she will now be free from her long health situations and is now happy. Thanks mom, we love you.She is survived by five sons and one daughter, Alex S. (Geri) Golightly of Preston; Ben S. (Maryann) Golightly of Preston; Cal S. (Katie) Golightly of Preston; Dale S. (Michelle) Golightly of Preston; Della G. (Troy) Karren of Lewiston, Utah; Elroy S. (Jan) Golightly of Fruit Heights, Utah; twenty-six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers, Cassie Seamons of Preston; Larry Seamons of Fairview, Idaho; Roger (Jean) Seamons of Treasureton, Idaho; and Diane (Merlin) Weeks of Lewiston, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane, four infant children, a grandson, Jimmy Golightly, her parents, her father-in-law, Donald Golightly, and two brothers, Clair and Boyd Seamons.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview First Ward Chapel with Bishop Howard D. Nelson conducting. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
