Benjamin Farrell Jones, 57, Clearfield, Utah returned home May 25, 2016 after a long struggle with cancer. Benny was born October 28, 1959, to Elwin and Jana Lee Jones in Logan, Utah. The family lived in Thatcher Utah before moving to Malad, Idaho. Benny graduated from Malad High School in 1977. On November 5, 1982, he married the love of his life Lori Swainston Jones in the Ogden Temple by Benny’s grandfather. In May 1983 Benny started what would be his 33 year career at Thiokol, now known as Orbital ATK. In 1991 he received a B.S degree in Business from USU. The three biggest and most proud accomplishments in his life were his children, Nicole, Zack and Dusty.
Benny loved to fly and became a pilot early in life. Benny enjoyed the outdoors. He taught his kids the fun of camping, fishing and hunting. He loved a nice yard, growing fruit trees and a garden. Benny like to travel, especially cruises visiting places like Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica, Virgin Islands. In the last few years of his life you would find him relaxing at the Jones Place on the Blackfoot Reservoir where he cherished his ultimate gifts in life his grandchildren Janie and Whitney Ward and Kayson Jones. Benny loved his family and enjoyed the times they would visit him. His unique sense of humor, his kindness and his smiles are just few ways he will be missed by those who loved him.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-laws Wayne Swainston and Bud Jones. Survived by his bride Lori, children Nicole (Rustin) Ward, Kimberly, Idaho, Zachary Benjamin Jones, Roy, Utah and Dustin Lee Jones, Roy, Utah; grandchildren Janie and Whitney Ward and Kayson Benjamin Jones. Siblings; Susan Cluff, Malad, ID, Doug (Kris) Jones, Malad, ID, Steve (Connie) Jones, Rigby, ID, Scott Jones, Clearfield, UT.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. Interment will be in Whitney Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the USU Alumni Association. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
