Austin Keith Merrill passed away at his home in Preston, Idaho on July 10, 2013, at the age of 93. He was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Mound Valley, Idaho to Alice Perry and Austin Merrill. He was the oldest of nine children. Keith married Marcella Head on May 12, 1946, in Preston, Idaho. He graduated from Tulane University earning a degree in Engineering. He retired after 22 years from United Technology in East Hartford, Connecticut.
Keith was a Warrant Officer in the Air Force during World War II. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. Conviction, honor and integrity were the foundation of his life. His love and devotion to family were without question.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda. He is survived by his wife, Marcella; by his son, Keith Allen (Joy) Merrill; by three daughters, Kathryn (Joe) Nolisa; Kristine Merrill and Barbara (John) McLean; by six grandchildren and by three great-grandchildren.
It is with heart-felt gratitude that the family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Hospice Care in Preston and the wonderful care they provided. A special thanks to Betty Mumford just for being Betty. We are also so grateful for her and the very special support, kindness and care she provided to Keith, Marcella and family- a sincere thanks to all that they do.
