- Arthur Chapman Wardell- our father, our grandfather, our friend, our Hero- took his final journey home to his Eternal Sweetheart on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the age of 86.
- Born June 5, 1923 in Weston, Idaho to Isaac Martin and Mary Jane Mumford Wardell, Art was the seventh child in a family of fourteen.
- In May of 1943, he laid his twinkling eyes upon Norma Myrle Thomas and knew at once that she would be his bride. Within six weeks, on June eleventh, they were married. They later solemnized their union for all of time and eternity in the Logan LDS Temple.
- Art was a dedicated and passionate man. Whether he was driving a garbage truck, herding sheep, milking cows, keeping bees or building things, he worked tirelessly and strove for perfection. When it came to his family, no man could have loved deeper or been a more powerful teacher, example and guardian than Art. Everyone who had the good fortune to know him adored and respected his charm, honesty, wisdom and sense of humor.
- Art is survived by his four children, Kathleen Kubicek of Stansbury Park, Utah, Wesley (Debbie) Wardell of Clifton, Norma Wardell of Clifton, and Royann Wardell (Jim Lester) of Preston; his eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; his siblings Dwain, Elmer, Paul, Lawrence, Mary and Irene, and many extended family members and friends.
- He was preceded in death by his parents, his dear wife, Myrle, his siblings Milton, Claron, Cleo, Thelma, Viola, Harold and Owen; his son-in-law Edward Kubicek, his great-grandson Clinton Brackin, Jr, and many other dear family members and friends.
- The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Access Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care and thoughtful guidance through this transition.
