Weston, Idaho - - - Arnold R. Beus
Weston - Arnold Ray Beus, 89, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. He was born on February 13, 1922 in Soda Springs, Idaho, the fourth of seven children in the family of Rudeth and Leone Irene Densley Beus. Arnold served in the US Army Infantry during World War II, on duty as a mechanic at Pearl Harbor after the infamous attack. When he returned to the family farm in Grey's Lake, he married Juanita Harrison in Pocatello, Idaho on December 23, 1947. To this union was born a daughter, Carol, and two sons, Gary and Jeff.
Arnold was a hard worker able to turn work into adventure. His work experiences included farmer/rancher, carpenter/builder, heavy equipment operator on road construction, insurance salesman, mink rancher, inventor, farm produce guru, and salesman. His adventures included muskrat capturing from the wing of a small plane; fishing for perch, trout, and salmon (in Alaska); and defying gravity driving a road grader on the edge of mountain roads.
Arnold is survived by Juanita, his loving wife of 63 years, his daughter Carol (Bill) Spackman, of Treasureton, ID; his sons Gary (Wanda Flemmer) of Logan, UT; and Jeff (Penny Hansen) of Payette, ID; seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, in Preston with Bishop Scott White conducting. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Weston Cemetery. At Arnolds request, the family asks in lieu of flowers and plants, donate to a favorite cancer society charity or the Humanitarian Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
