Arch Albert Geddes, 84, beloved sweetheart, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed through the veil to Heavenly Father on January 8, 2014 in Preston, Idaho.

He was born September 22, 1929 in Banida, Idaho to Moses Peterson Geddes and Mary "Mae" Leaver Reid. He was the youngest of six children following four sisters and one brother. Dorthy (Guy) Nelson, Dee (Lois) Geddes, Lola Mae (Dale) Phipps, Moselle (Gunter) Neuman, Virginia (Bob) Eyestone. His family moved to Preston, Idaho when he was five. He graduated from Preston High School. He married Dolores Bird his friend and eternal companion in 1950. And they were sealed in the Logan Temple in 1951.

He was called to serve in the Korean War. He received the bronze star for bravery and returned to Preston in 1953. He started his own business, Geddes Auto Body where he worked successfully for nineteen years. He then became an estimator and claims adjustor for State Farm Insurance. He was a good family man and loved his family and grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. His greatest legacy to his family is his positive attitude and his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a good leader and talented speaker and served as Bishop of Preston 2nd Ward and held many other church callings. He enjoyed writing poetry about family and friends. He served in the Logan Temple as officiator and baptistery director. He served a mission with his wife Dolores to Martins Cove.

They raised a family of five children; Debra Lee (Steven) Chatterton, Mary Lynn (Tim) Johnson, David Arch ( Leslie) Geddes, Terri (Neil) Ransbottom, Ruth Ann (Blake) Andrews. They have 28 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy G. Nelson and son in law Neil Ransbottom. A special thanks to the staff at Heritage Home and Access Home Care and Hospice especially Thelma, MaRee, Liz and Alona for the kind and gentle care they gave to Arch.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1st. South, Preston, with President Mike Dansie conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 8th East, Preston and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Mendon, Utah Cemetery.
