PRESTON, IDAHO - - - ANNA Y. BURTON
Anna Lea Yost Burton, who has lived in Preston, Idaho for the past fourteen years, passed away on June 1, 2010. Anna had been fighting a brain tumor since October, 2008.
Anna was born on November 24, 1964 in Paso Robles, California. Anna grew up all over the western US, and her family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while living in Salt Lake City. While growing up, Anna spent significant time outdoors with her family and grew to love camping and being in the mountains. She also enjoyed making crafts and cross-stitching. Anna enjoyed playing volleyball at Raft River High School in Raft River, Idaho. After high school Anna lived the rest of her life in Cache Valley working mainly as a seamstress and in call centers. Anna was preceded in passing by her father, Herbert Meral Yost.
She is survived by her son, Nathan (Joanna) Burton; mother, Doris Yost; sisters, Barbara (Gary) Tidwell and Laura Johnson; brothers Herbert (Wendy) Yost and David Yost; ex-husband Ronald Burton; and many friends and neighbors. Anna had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and served in many callings in the Relief Society as well as in the Young Women's program and as a Sunday school teacher. Anna's family would like to express their appreciation for all who assisted Anna in her medical trials, especially Sherri Ransom who was there for Anna to the very end.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston 1st/5th/8th Ward Chapel, 213 South 200 East, Preston, with Bishop Jason Travis conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
