ANN SHERMANANN PATRICIA VALIHORA SHERMAN, 68, passed away at her home peacefully from Acute Leukemia on May 28, 2008. She was born January 2, 1940 in Manhattan, NYC, New York to Stephen Valihora and Betty Kunda Mizerak.She was raised in the Bronx, NYC until 13 years of age, after which she moved to Otis, Massachusetts where she excelled in school and loved the Berkshire Mountains where she lived. Ann graduated from Lee High School with honors.She met her sweetheart, Edward Kenneth Sherman at a USO dance in Springfield, Massachusetts. They married on October 24, 1959 at Westover AFB, Massachusetts. They were later sealed in the SLC Temple March 1, 1961.She worked for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Corporate Offices, was a hostess at YWCA and was a Title IV tutor for South Clearfield Elementary. She had many titles over the years but most importantly, she was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend.Ann was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings that include a counselor in the Relief Society presidency, Visiting Teacher and Primary President.She made many life long friendships where she lived in Massachusetts, Texas, Layton and Kaysville, Utah, and Preston, Idaho where she resided at her passing.Ann and Ed served their mission with the Church Distribution Services for eight years in Layton, Salt Lake City and Lubbock Texas.Ann is survived by her mother Betty Valihora Wynne and sister Stephanie (Peter) Paulson; husband Edward K. Sherman; and their five children, Stephen W. (Kathy) Sherman, Kenneth C. (Debbie) Sherman, Karen A. (Tony) Thompson, Amy B. Sherman, April C. (Darin) Brenchley; twenty-three grandchildren and five great grandchildren .She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Valihora and her grandson, Tanner M. Thompson.Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Fairview Second Ward Chapel, 169 W. 4800 S. Fairview, Idaho. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church before the funeral service. Interment with a graveside dedication and service will be at 2:30 PM, at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, east of 5600 South Harrison Blvd. on 1719 Combe Road, South Ogden, Utah.
