Alton Ellerman Larsen

Alton Ellerman Larsen, 81, beloved husband and father, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 peacefully at his home in Whitney, Idaho. He was born January 27, 1929 to Melvin and Hedwig Ellerman Larsen. He married Shirley Mae Greaves on May 27, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were happily married for 62 years. They made their home in Whitney where they raised their five children on the family farm.

 

Alto served an LDS Mission to Holland from 1949 to 1952. Missionary work was always a joyful part of his life. He served as the President of the 18th Quorum of Seventy when these quorums were locally organized. He was a Bishopric Counselor, Sunday School President, and Ward Missionary. He enjoyed serving with his wife as a temple worker for many years. Alton received his BS degree from Utah State Agricultural College.

 

He will be missed by his loving wife Shirley, his children Leslie (Brad) Lyons, Rex (Maureen) Larsen, Doug (Ange) Larsen, and Spencer (Julie) Larsen. His son Richard preceded him in death. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cub River Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
