Mapleton, Idaho- Alma Gardner Burbank, 91, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his home in Cub River, Idaho. He was born February 23, 1917 in Mapleton, Idaho one of 10 children born to Brigham Mertello and Electa Belettie Gardner Burbank. He married Dorothy Elwood on June 21, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple. Alma enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He loved bowling and was a member of a bowling league for many years. He was a member of the LDS church and loved spending time with family and helping them with any project they had. He was also a bus driver for many years.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Mapleton; his four sons, Lyle (Nayda) Burbank, Mapleton, ID; Rex (Pam) Burbank, Paris, ID; Leon (Sharon) Burbank; of Tremonton, UT; and Boyd (Cindy) Burbank, of Maplteton, ID; 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nine siblings.Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mapleton LDS Chapel with Bishop Randy Halford conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mapleton Cemetery.
