PRESTON, IDAHO - - ALDIN R SWANN
PRESTON- Aldin (Al) R Swann, 82, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston. He was born on Jan. 6, 1928, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Ephraim Swann and Sarah Elma Reid Swann. He attended school in Preston and graduated from Preston High School. He married Velna Pearl Hendrickson on June 2, 1948, in the Logan Utah Temple. They are the parents of five daughters.
Aldin enjoyed the outdoors, and took his family on many camping trips. He enjoyed going hunting with his brothers and he also enjoyed fishing. He and Velna loved square dancing and danced with the Cache Merry Mixers square dance club. They attended the Knothead Jamboree many years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Velna, ofPreston; his daughters, Vicki Swann of Pocatello, Idaho; Barbara (Reed) Snyder of Preston; Dorthea (Peter) Lawson of Superior, Wisconsin; Mary Ellen (Jeffrey) Allred of Preston; Kaylene (Mark W.) Owen of Preston; one brother, Wayne (Vadna) Swann of Ivins, Utah; a sister-in-law, Gwen Swann of Jerome, Idaho; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Reid, Jean, Dale and Kay, a sister-in-law, Margarete Swann, and by one grandchild.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Beckstead, the staff at FCMC Home Health and the staff of the Franklin County Transitional Care Center for the love and care given to Aldin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in the Preston Tenth Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, with Bishop Mike Andrus conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 South 8th East, Preston, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
