Alan Ervin Plowman, 77, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at McKay-Dee Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Alan was born on January 28, 1938, the first child and only son of Edna Alice Allen and Louis Quinn Plowman. He was raised in Smithfield, Utah and graduated from North Cache High School in 1956.
He met his sweetheart, Margaret Jamison in the hospital where he was recovering from a broken leg. They were married on February 12, 1958 in the Logan Temple.
Dad worked his entire life in the grocery business, starting at American Food Stores. He also worked for many years at Safeway, Albertsons and Lees Marketplace. He made friends wherever he went. He was affectionately known as "Big Al" by many.
Dad served as a Stake Missionary, as well as in the Sunshine Terrace Branch Presidency and in his home ward Bishopric. His favorite calling was working as a veil worker at the Temple.
Dad is survived by his wife, Margaret, four sons, Robert (Jan) Tempe AZ, Brian( Janet) Pocatello ID, Michael (Hollie) Orem UT, David Hodges (Terrellee) La Crescenta CA, two daughters, Sandra Cazier, Logan and Tamera (Brian) Ellis of Logan.
He is also survived by four sisters, Marge Seeholzer, Smithfield, Larene (Earl) Cox, Millville, Janice (Jon) Chutich, Millville and Julie (Larry) Johnson, Smithfield. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren,whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law Ted Seeholzer.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Salisbury and his staff as well as the staff at McKay-Dee Hospital and CNS home health for their care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Logan 16th Ward Chapel, 125 W. 600 N., Logan. Friends may call Friday, Jan. 1st from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the church.
Services are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home of Preston, Idaho. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery in Franklin Idaho. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
