Alan Royce Pearce

Alan Royce Pearce died on March 2, 2025, in Nampa, Idaho. He was born in Preston, Idaho on January 18, 1965, to Rodney and Nancy Pearce. He continued to live in Preston until he graduated from Preston Senior High School in 1983. During his years growing up, he would help his dad deliver milk to grocery stores and the schools in the area. While in high school, when his family moved to a small farm in Whitney, Idaho, he helped on the farm milking cows, moving irrigation pipe and hauling hay. He spent time with family and friends enjoying outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, fishing and skiing. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and later the fiddle. A passion for these activities would stay with him the rest of his life.

After his graduation from high school, Alan attended Utah State University graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in German in 1989. During his time at Utah State University, he took time off to service a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Hamburg, Germany Mission. After graduation from Utah State University, he attended Creighton University where he completed a doctorate degree in dentistry in 1993. He went on to continue his education at the University of Texas, Houston. There he completed a combined medical doctorate and oral surgery residency in 1997. During his dental and medical school training, he was nominated to both the national dental honor and medical societies, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Alpha Omega Alpha. Following the completion of his oral surgery residency, he moved to Nampa, Idaho to begin his oral surgery practice. He continued an activity practice until 2007 when health difficulties developed which prevented him from continuing his career.

While attending Creighton University, he met Nancy Snell on a blind date. They would later marry on June 23, 1995, in Logan, Utah. Following their move to Nampa, their family began to grow with the additions of Emily and Alyssa, his two beloved daughters. Alan’s marriage to Nancy would later end in 2011.

In addition to a love of outdoor activities and music, Alan developed a passion for old cars. He could spend hours talking about anything from 32’ Ford coups and 1940 Willey’s cars to 1960’s Corvettes. He would buy and sell multiple project cars through the years, and he always had grand plans of restoring a “dream car” someday. He learned that in the auto restoration world, time and money are always against you, though. He loved trying to keep old cars and trucks running forever. One of his car goals was to keep his 2007 F150 pickup truck running for at least 300,000 miles.

Alan’s last words to his family and friends were, “Love is all that matters. I love you all now and forever.”

He is survived by his daughters Emily Pearce (Moscow, Idaho) and Alyssa Pearce (Fruitland, Idaho), parents Rodney and Nancy Pearce (Preston, Idaho), brother Michael (Sue Ann) Pearce (Lindon, Utah), and sister Leslie (David) Teuscher (Preston, Idaho). He is also survived by his “best cousin” Lewis (Staci) Palmer (Preston, Idaho), along with many other cousins, nephews and nieces.

Many thanks go out to the family and friends who helped support Alan through both good and difficult times during his life. If you would like to share a story about Alan with the family, please do so at LD2sure@gmail.com
